I think I have a good sound, I have an okay groove, and I think I make good decisions as a bass player about what to play and what not to play. I don’t like saying no. Also, working with such a large ensemble is not easy. Getting work done doesn’t stress me out, being on tour doesn’t stress me out, making records doesn’t stress me out. And while a greater audience is just now finding out about the group, Seth Godin’s words ring true: “it takes years of hard work to be an overnight success”.
